Rather than just place this character on the page, I'm scooting him-in with animation and making him blink. He's a PNG to keep his quality at 100%, and only his blinky eyes are an animated gif, positioned in a div. (part of the mockup is attached) (and you can view the animation here http://mvhcadmin.squarespace.com ) :-)
