Thanks @Florin. There is actually a rationale behind the mark dynamic, apart from it also representing an 'A'. I'll elaborate at a letter stage. Early days
looks great, matt. lovin' the type. at first i was unsure about a slab, but now that i've had a closer look, those angles reflect the mark beautifully.
@saurabhj thanks mate. i'm working on the black and white version now. it's the same technique i've done in the past when doing this style of logo. I'll post an attachment tonight.
@Colin Tierney thanks legend... stoked you like. I could of saved myself the time and picked one of the popular slabs out there, but there's something fulfilling about making everything custom. That, and i'm addicted to type.
Wonderful! Really really nice. Love the subtle texture, and the colour scheme is just fantastic. Very strong. I guess my only qualm is that the kerning on either side of the M seems out. I'm sure it's just a visual thing.
Looking forward to hearing more about what this client do, but my best guess is that they collect dinosaur DNA :)
@Trent McBride thanks mate for the comments. I see what you mean by the kerning. it's 100% accurate on the illustrator file, but I think when reduced for the shot it's created a weird extra space that's not actually there (THAT MADE NO SENSE).
Ha! not quite anything to do with the Triassic period.
I totally know what you mean about the weird extra space. That often happens with no explanation :) Was just trying to constructive, but it's tough when something is so pretty!
I thought i'd put together a quick little presentation for this client. The client was very happy from the start, but wanted to see a less masculine typeface then the slab serif font I originally created, so I decided to give this a little home on behance along with my others.

Working on a project where the client wished to see something inspired by my V mark. Type is custom and there's an enlarged shot attached.
