Unreal. Great work!
Good stuff bro!!
Love the dark green instead of brown/gray/black, same as with that Tiger few days ago!
another stella job!
You are the king of head-on roaring animals.
This is looking real cool !
Your execution is super nice, but it's too bad that I can't look at any of your shots without thinking about Fraser Davidson. Maybe you should try to add a little more of your personnality in your creations, or people would always tell you're doing the same thing as him.
@Jeremy Lefebvre It's interesting that you say that because personally, I feel that CJ has really progressed far from that point. To me he has developed his own fluid and illustrative style, while Fraser has a very sharp and stylized feel to his work. Of course that's just my view on the matter, and we're not all going to see things the same way.
@Jeremy Lefebvre: You know, I had ALWAYS admired Fraser's work, his work has been an inspiration from the beginning. However, I really don't see any similarities in my other shots.
It's funny you say this though; the client actually wanted this one done in a similar style to Davidson's.
Thanks for the comments, guys!
parts of this feel a bit close for inspiration. nose, mussel etc. http://dribbble.com/shots/446137-Sydney-Bears-Concept-3
I'll run this by the client and see if we could make any changes, I'd like to distance this piece from Fraser's as much as possible.
Much better than the previous incarnation, which was definitely too heavily influenced by the Sydney Bears link above. I think you've developed a nice style. It's easy to tell you learned a bit from FD's process and style, but a discerning eye can tell your work apart from his, for better of worse.
