Looks really cool, brother! I'm cracking up now after reading what @Vincent Dassens and @Nikita Prokhorov pointed out about the background easter eggs. Too funny.
Fabulous! Your hand lettering always has such a great feel to it. I'm appreciating it more and more with each piece that you do. This may seem like an odd thing to notice in the midst of all the awesomeness, but the slight bevel/outline around the letters is a really nice touch.
Haha thanks @Vincent, I didn't even notice that - that's hilarious!
Thanks @Nikita! Wouldn't that be sad, to go through dozens of battles and dangerous situations just to meet your death from a gigantic number. D:
Sadly @Andrew I didn't do the background, it's a vintage engraving of some random battle from the American Revolution. Just that would probably take me a couple days! That style takes forever to do!
Thanks @Ryan! Yeah, I didn't notice those either, ha! I'm a humorless person I guess!
Glad you like it @Jeff! Still exploring and trying to find 'my' style, if that makes sense; not sure where I belong style-wise, but I'll find it eventually! :D
@Joseph Alessio, Bruce Lee once said 'my style is no style.' Why should that be different from art/design, and why should we as artists have a 'style'? ;)
@Bobby Haiqalsyah, no worries! Some artistic discussion is always good.
Anyways, I should be the one to talk...I draw almost nothing but ambigrams! I've tried to break out of the habit of turning every word I see into an ambigram, but it's challenging.
There's nothing wrong with having your own style, as long as you are not in the game with the mindset OF developing your own style. Better to let it happen naturally than to force it. (@Joseph Alessio, not saying you're forcing it either! ;) )
Well THIS is bloody ruddy nice, Joseph! I'd wear this.
One tiny, tiny thing... I always think it's a shame when you can see repeats in patterns, and I immediately notice them because I'm a shit like that. I hate myself for having to point it out but the 7s are identical - it'd be really easy make this perfect, though. :)
Thanks @Bobby! Yeah, I see what you're meaning @Nikita. I was talking to Jon Contino a couple weeks back, and he was saying that you can either have a defined style, or you can be a chameleon. Jon has a well-defined style, and people love him for it; but he mentioned Erik Marinovich as an example of someone who can do pretty much any style like a bawss. So, both paths work; I'm not sure where I belong yet, though! ha! He said to just work it out, just do what feels right stylistically, and if you're meant to you'll develop it over time without trying.
Thanks @Neil! Me too, haha! Appreciate the support mate
@Joseph Alessio I think style is something that continually evolves -- sometimes subtly, sometimes dramatically. I can recognize your work immediately, so I'd say that this is your style ... for now, anyway. And I do enjoy it :)
Thanks @Nick! Script is a rather janky but I suppose it works!
Quite true @Jeff, I am wondering if this is my 'style' in a general sense, since it feels very natural to me - but you're right, it will probably change over time! "For now", exactly, haha! Glad you like it! :D
The numerals are beautiful. And you always give your works this special touch, I would say a perfect harmony between your type style and choice of illustration. Plus great color schemes, which is even more impressive to me because I suck with color choices. Great job !

Love it Joseph ! It seems that the guy behind is cleaning the "t" of "Spirit" with his handkerchief. Funny.

Beautiful work Joseph! Nice 'scribblings.' ;)
The shading & texture of the lettering really matches up well with the background...
Looks like that one soldier is about to get stabbed by the top part of the 6.

I love the shading @Joseph Alessio. Not going against what you say @Nikita Prokhorov, but I think this 'style' really suits him for some reason

@Rob - shhh, don't tell! :P You also aren't supposed to notice that the 7 was borrowed from this sketch from a couple weeks ago! Haha
I should probably draw another one, or doctor it a bit in Photoshop to change it up - good call! Glad you like it!
