Because I don't like it, when icons in my dock contain too much white ;)
Wonderful job the glyphs. They look fantastic and well thought-out. All I'm seeing is that those glyphs have textures but the paper underneath don't. Try using that texture on the paper as well :)

They actually look pretty strong in the dock, thanks to the shading on the glyph. These are the 512 versions, scaled down by OS X - http://drp.ly/nw09

The shape of they glyph really gets lost in the dock, try playing with the scaling a bit.
