    After a 'mildly unsuccessful' rebound yesterday > playing off Fuzzco's comment on this guy... I decided to play around with it a bit more, looking for alternative solutions that integrated the red-cross. The design was 'playfully targeted' at this site (a non-profit for injured soldiers) which of course is obviously in need of a refresh...

    Anyway, thought I'd post it up just for kicks... ;)

    While yellow and red might be a bit hard on the eyes, yellow ribbons are symbols of military. This is really nice though.

    One qualm with it is that bend in the ribbon (top right) isn't natural to ribbon. I know it's a logo, but it still feels weird. No real suggestions though.

    I dig this. Are you going to propose this to them?

    Just a heads up, the Red Cross is a registered trademark and they will cease and desist you if you use a red cross-like design, even (and maybe especially) if you're doing it for a good cause.

    @gopal Raju - Thanks a bunch! :)

    @Brandon Oxendine - Thanks Brandon! Honestly this is more a proof of concept than anything else... For the bend, I've certainly thought about it...but actually a bonus with the sharp bend is it creates a 'chevron' shape. Since it would supposedly be for a military focused organization, I thought that might actually be totally appropriate, as well as let it standout a bit from other ribbons. Right now I was going for more of a muted red white & blue theme > but yellow could work well given the brass/gold color of the chevrons...

    @Ryan Rushing - Thanks a lot Ryan! Hadn't gotten there just yet... But I thought I'd throw it up and see what people thought? ;) For usability purposes this would have to be refined a bit > again more of a basic proof of concept at the moment.

    @Claes Källarsson - Thanks for the heads up Claes. I think in application the cross could always be a different color > it's more the form factor at the moment. If they give me any trouble I guess I'll just have to refer them to he Swiss... ;)

    @Brandon Oxendine - Cheers! :) Honestly, I only realized I did that after I did it...but it's kind of a nice payoff when you finally get it ;)

  13. Again, still really just a logo concept i.e. not quite fully applicable in its current state > But I wanted to play with the 'chevron' a bit more, give it some shine, etc.
