A little side project I was working on that's been put on hold for now.
Trying to capture the horror/ drama of Guillermo del Toro's (director of Pan's Labyrinth) characters with a signature mark. I sharpened the pencil really sharp and snapped off the tip with some pressure to try and get a very scratchy, stressed and edgy look. then a little more pressure for the final lead snap on the final stroke (queue: blood).

Like british would say: "bloody awesome!"
^bloody indeed, great piece of work Matt
This is great!
I really like this one and how you achieved the overall look. It's great how legible it is and how well the blood splatters work! Absolutely love those further shots on your website too, the red accent is such a perfect touch.
Thanks all for the feedback - always appreciated!
@Claire Coullon - Thank you also! my best results were when i had a little caffeine in my system for this. that last stroke where the lead snaps is suppose to suggest a little mystery. perhaps whilst signing the name a monster revealed itself and swatted him. mwohahaha! I'm just worried one of my daughters caught a glimpse of my monitor when i was researching his characters - my youngest is paranoid about monsters at the moment when going to bed.
Haha that's terrible, I hope your work wasn't responsible for any nightmares.. (I do love the mysterious monster element though!)
