   A button with an 'x' always indicates closing something - does it only appear after clicking? I don't think people will assume that the 'x' will open a dropdown.

   I love the dotted separating lines and the menu itself though!

   @Greg Bruening It's a '+' when the menu is not shown, then when clicked it rotates to an 'x' :)

   Really nice! I particularly like the use of circles for the user icon and buttons. Another thought for the close; maybe a minus sign to counter the plus sign for open? Great work!
