Practicing flourishes! Type is not very original, you could find dozens of virtually identical samples I am sure, I based it off some wood type samples I found.
Oh, the title is a pre-Revolutionary book in the form of a series of letters describing the early American idealism and lifestyle. Very interesting reading, if you like history.
Thanks @Nick! Not nearly as cool as your recent shots, but I'll get there! haha
Glad you like it @Nikita, I'm really liking wood type - probably not my favorite style but definitely among the ones I like a lot!
Haha thanks @Patrick, I'll have to visit NC one of these days. This year is going to be a busy one - I have trips to NM and TN already - so I'll have to see!
Thanks @James! There are mistakes in the flourishes but I plan to vector it and clean up the bad curves, etc.
Glad you like it @Colin, it's silly how long it took me to get that blue to look right. I couldn't decide for like 15 minutes on what shade worked! haha
Haha glad you like it @Nick, thanks for the encouraging reviews! :D For this one I made the type, then basically looked at 1700's calligraphy samples for an hour or two and drew up my own flourishes! haha
Thanks guys! Glad you like it @Anna, now I want to make a packaging label sort of like this, your project inspired me (and a bunch of great stuff from the Dieline!) haha
Really, really nice piece and beautifully drawn flourishes! Love the middle one in particular, the curves flow really well together. Oh and totally worth spending a while getting that blue, the tone is perfect!

Definitely do it! I think I spend maybe 60% of my current life on the Dieline (not really), therefore I know exactly what you mean ;)

You're right it would be perfect for a packaging label. I already see myself buying it and don't even care of what's inside.

Haha yes, it's a great site! Packaging is so intriguing, would love to get into it seriously, like Louise Fili!
Thanks @Joachim! I love jars/tins/boxes that could double as a great decoration.

Thanks @Michael, they're a bit bumpy at the moment but should be easy to vector. Glad you like it @Ged, that's a serious compliment coming from you!
Thanks @Claire! Yes, the middle one seemed to flow better. Haha thanks! Blue is a tough one for me, I am too choosy with colors sometimes!
