IBM Thinktable

An idea I had in my college sketchbook many years ago* finally came to fruition here at IBM. Based on the intensely frustrating Labryinth game of my youth, this coffee table took that game concept and expanded on it to include some corporate branding. Not only would this coffee table be displayed (and used) in our Astor Place reception area, the purpose of this project was to promote the brand on social media.

Perhaps one of the greatest challenges faced was designing a way to keep the ball trapped inside the table at all times.
I did not want the ball to eventually become lost and designing an internal ball launch/return method is a feature I am very proud of. You can get an idea of how it works in the beginning of the reveal video attached.
