Hey man, this looks really clean and sleek. Great job. But I'm wondering about the negative space in the middle. It kind of resembles an "S" but it's not a strong resemblance. Do you want to leverage that negative space at all in your logo? Because right now it's toeing that fine line of seeming like it could be something which draws your attention to it.
In my opinion this doesn't speak very well to the type of work you create. The speech bubble motif reminds me of a consulting agency or an app focused on conversation - not something for a designer (or at least not your specific style of design).

Working on a new logo/icon. I'm still trying a few other things around this concept, so feedback would be awesome :)

@Nick Slater @Ben Muschol thanks! still working on it, not sure what to do with the font yet.

I feel like the gradient or inner shadow makes it look odd. Maybe there is a better way to add depth to it?

@Mike Moloney how about this (no inner shadows) http://dribbble.com/shots/607678-Logo-Design/attachments/49171
I also have another version completely flat which is starting to make a lot more sense now.

I think the flat version would look best ;) Really cool concept though! I love the bubble, chat type effect!

I love the concept but the effects kill it, Try to focus on making the design have more depth without the use of effects.

It's alright but I don't think it really represents your style of work very well. Just my 2c ;)

I personally feel the font is great as it is. More focus on the icon.
