I’ve built my own social icons font for an upcoming Tumblr theme. Every icon has a :hover colour set in CSS, making it easy to override if you need to. Plus … scalable to infinity and beyond.
Most of the icons are from Gedy Rivera’s set with a bunch of my own additions.

@Matthew Buchanan How can I get my hands on this font?
@Henry Moran I might release it when it’s done, as long as it doesn’t conflict with the terms of Gedy’s set. Will tweet if/when I do.
Could you share your process on taking the icons and turning them into fonts?
@Kevin Clark This version was made in Inkscape by following this tutorial by Heydon Pickering. Inkscape works but it’s not particularly pretty. I’ve since begun rebuilding the set in Glyphs Mini, based on Cameron McFee’s article about Octicons for Github.
