All: the Monopoly board as it exists today is mostly a waste of space. Cards and dice rolls can be moved to the table itself, rather than the board. This allows a little more room for each player's cash, deeds, drinks, etc. I always found playing Monopoly took up too much space that I never had enough space for my properties.
So... I may have taken Meg's challenge and started marking this up. :)
But I thought I'd ping you guys for an opinion before I get further, would you write the markup in board order (Mediterranean -> Board Walk) and use absolute positioning for the layout, or mark it up in visual left-right top-bottom order (Go to Jail -> Mediterranean) and do a nice float (I guess you could go Board Walk -> Med and do a float right)
I like the nice rhythm and simply CSS of floating, but I think having the markup in order is more important.
@Louie, why did you keep Mediterranean in the bottom right instead of a Western reading format of top left?
Is there space for the community chest and chance cards? Do they go on the "Monopoly" section on the right? Also, I always think "town bike" when I see "community chest", but I'm just dirty like that.

Some time around last year I spent quite a bit of time redesigning a Monopoly board.

Lovely! Is there a larger size anywhere to see some of the details?

I would love to see this in large detail. I'm loving the lay of it so far, nonetheless. Reminds me a bit of the London Underground.

Daniel, it's also a huge waste of space.

@Philip wonderful... no advice on the mark-up, although elegance is relative. i'd emphasize an iterative approach :)
concept (bait): the board is isometric. rotates around an axis AND tilts with the players perspective
