I made this today in part of my efforts to learn and improve my skills at patten making with Adobe Illustrator's new pattern making tool. This didn't turn out perfect, but I still think it's a lot of tun :)
also, I have attached .zip of this the patterns I have created as illustrator swatches, which includes a few slight variations.
PS. I can't guarantee these will work in illustrator versions CS4 or below.
Awesome job. I really would love to know about your workflow. Any plans for publishing a tutorial about this (patterns and all that stuff), even it's premium? Maybe here: http://vector.tutsplus.com/about/write-a-tutorial/
@Joaquim Marques Nielsen, the tool I mean is in the Adobe Illustrator CS6. That feature alone makes it worth the cost of upgrading to the new version. :)
@Kevin Eichhorn, I have always wanted to make a tutorial, but can never seem to find the time. Making a complex organic pattern like this would probably be a fun one to do if I ever get around to it. Will have to put this on my todo list :)

@Jeremy Paul, have you tried the .ase file? Also, the .ai file is empty, but check the swatches, they should be there.
