My final rebound and (I think) final replacement icon for the iCaltrain 2010 iPhone app. To be clear: this isn't an official icon, just something I wanted to do this weekend :).
I'm pretty happy with the way this one came out. I've refined the lights quite a bit, the shading on the sides gives it much better shape, and the nose is much softer than before.
The best part? I was working on this last leg on the train this morning and was stopped by a Caltrain employee who said, "Hey, that looks like Caltrain!" Great feeling :).
(I'm still open to final tips on the lighting and shading, but I think for my purposes, this bad boy is finished. Thanks for all the help, everyone!)
Right on, thanks guys! Going to do a blog post about this progression, too, I think. There were lots and lots of small iterations through this that I've preserved.
Thanks, Paul and Adi. #2 is still too plane and bullet train, without enough Caltrain in it. Not sure on it being used for the official app—we'll see if it gets taken that far :).

Love the details on this one. The shiny lights are really great. Good job :)

Thanks, Josh! They look great on the iPhone, too, though I think the shine and glow could be even brighter/bigger.

Not that I've seen the original (although I can imagine) this looks absolutely great! Any chance you think of getting it used on the official app?
