Honestly...the icons themselves (if you throw out the gradients and drop shadows), don't seem any different than the dozens of other basic icons out there.
When it comes to releasing icon sets, I've found I'm more likely to download/buy sets that have icons depicting subject matter that others don't.
For instance, not many sets include sports icons. So if you used this style and created a ton of icons for various sports...I'd definitely buy it.
@♫ ♬ ♪ Wendell Fernandes ♪ ♬ ♫ Hmm, that's kinda the point, it isn't a set. It was practice which resulted in a question of whether I should expand into a set.
Oh most definitely. I think it could be a set. Usually it's how a set starts, but in my opinion, since there are so many icons of the same style out there, icon designers might start in a different perspective, creating some custom first, than the usual to complete the set. It's just another set, cause it's all we "see" but I understand it's for practice.
Either way, I think you should create a master set, ultimate collection 500+ icons, that would be sweet.
It is kinda hard to determine if this style will stand out or not. Right now both the icons and the style is pretty common, so it's hard to decide wether or wether not to create a ful set, but since you seem to love makin' em I'd say keep going man!
@Orman Clark you've done an awesome job to start! I wouldn't hang up the gloves especially if you enjoyed doing it - would love to hear what you've learned from tinkering with it.
well it depends, these icons don't differentiate themselves from many other but if you keep yourself in a therapeutic mindset =P and create a nice big set of these and put 'm on pp then those weil be very popular, otherwise..i'm not sure

Started playing with some icons (the easiest ones first!) Carry on and make a full set or hang up my icon-making gloves?

Really into these. They look quite similar to these but that might just be the background.

i'm diggin' these icons. I've just started making icons and i was wondering what you're process is simplified? Like for example do you use ps or ai?
