Phagophobia

This is a Lino carving print illustrating one of my own phobias.
Phagophobia: is the fear of swallowing or eating or being eaten. The origin of the word phago is Greek (meaning eat) and phobia is Greek (meaning fear). it can also be closely related to Cibophobia, or fear of food, which is a relatively complicated phobia that can rapidly spiral into an obsession. My own interpretation of this particular phobia a scene of a ferocious canibalism event on the side of a bowl. Since I was a little boy I am fascinated by Amcient Greek mythology and its wide range of depicted imagery onto ceramics. It inspires me even today and the fact that word Phagophobia is a Greek word makes this illustration more related to the topic.speaking about the print this one are printed on a 350gsm white Somerset paper. After the holiday period I will be printing some of those illustrations on a creamy Somerset paper as well... my favourite tone of paper so far and the prints are avalaivable to buy right now.If you are interested just hit me up with a message in the matter of week website will be live too.Lino prints are fascinating.
