I remember hearing Doyald respond to the question along the lines of why are there letterers, and he answered because everyone loves having something custom. I loved the response, and it is very true.
Beautiful. I love that 'v-e', really stunning curve. Really nice choice of words too! (and I do hope you drew this with your eyes shut and your other hand..)
@Andrew Terpening thanks buddy!
@Brian Steely Thanks dude, that is def. it!
@kirk visola thanks friend!
@Tobia Crivellari thank you!!
@Nikita Prokhorov Thank you!
@Claire Coullon Thanks, actually now that I look at it, the lettering seems uneven and not good throughout the piece, but I was moving fast and trying to get it done in one sitting, but as I draw more i will improve!
Actually I thought it looked really even, particularly for a pencil sketch. Either way though, definitely fantastic practice – looking forward to seeing more of your drawings like this.
@Neil, just a quick thought. I love this more every time I glance at it, but...what if the C shifted down a bit, which would open up the room for the bottom of the L to go straight across and turn into the crossbar on the 't' rather then loop under and back?
I've just learned that he (Doyald Young) is left-handed (Ha! In your face @Claire). This excites me more than it probably should. Anyway, I'm glad that we both share a similar interest in elegant script lettering.
I'm really really liking the phrase "Everyone". That is incredible and beautifully done. One possible change I would like to see is losing part of that loop in the 'E'. I would rather see it stop where it starts to curve after passing through the 'v'. Example. Can't wait to see the vector.
@Nuruzzaman Sheikh Thank you!
@Chadwick III Thank you!
@Nikita Prokhorov that would look good, except that where the C is at right now is the end of the paper! its a very small sketch book, hard to fit stuff in!
@Anna Ropalo Thank you!
@Christopher Burton haha i contemplated stopping it, dont know what happened, just went it I guess! I do like it without better now seeing it with fresh eyes
Inspired by a very nice shot by @Neil Tasker . Very true sentence so I decided to pull off a quick piece as well. Made with 0.1 pigment liner, black indian ink and white acrylic paint.
Looks like I also missed this from you too. I love the elegance and the phrase! One thing I would edit a bit is the space between the uppercase L and C, I feel like they are a bit close, other than that I think everything else fits so nicely into each other.

I wish I would have thought of this L - t connection. Great sketch, plus it's a nice catch phrase to draw. Makes me want to try it too !
