Cheers @Andrew Terpening I don't think it's possible to make lettering out of a tongue without an element of strange but glad you think it suits it.
Also I hope @Nick Slater doesn't mind but I have added highlights in a similar style to his work. They really give a shine to his designs and I thought that would work here.
Cheers @Nick Slater An earlier version did include it but I couldn't get the effect as I wanted. Maybe next time I need to make some type out of tongue. This was a bit of a break between client work so I didn't want to spend too long on it.
Love this one Chris, it's so perfect for the word. (Can't believe you actually managed to do a really long word entirely out of a tongue). The end of the last 'n' in particular is really vivid, looks great (haha, great example sentence too!)
@Claire Coullon Yeah the sentence is off a list of the dead words you can draw found here , I loved it too, so descriptive in such a short sentence. Some of the line work could be a lot better but I'm slowly getting the transition from hand drawn to vector.
@Joseph Alessio Between that quote, this design and having a hamster powered raygun in my portfolio I can't see me ever getting hired again. Think I need stick to serious subjects for a while

My addition to The Dead Words, a great blog run by @Karen To that mixes typographic design and lost language.
Check out the full size here as well as the other sweet designs from talented designers.

Haha! I think any employer would rather hire someone with a sense of humor, at least today. Maybe not 100 years ago, though!
