Personal Mark - Take 2

Went back to the white board. The first iteration makes me think of the infinity symbol and that isn't representative of me.

I wanted something with much softer edges and with really wanting my identity to be around "Simpson" I let go of the D being in the mark. I'm liking this direction quite a bit more.

    Simplicity wins in my book.

maybe make the offset path shaped like a 'D'.

Yeah I only saw it because of this design :) I figure that way there is a D, but the S stands out most. Keep us posted!

Not entirely sold on this to be honest, it's good, but could be greater. :)

What I really mean is, it doesn't speak David Simpson to me, it just speaks 'S' to me, and doesn't seem to have the attachment or relatability—I feel no connection to it, it is simple a mark in it's current state.

Yes it's simple, yes it works visually, but doesn't tell a story in my opinion. Keep thinking about it though, I'm certain you'll find a stronger direction :) Keep the shots coming! :)

Thanks so much for the awesome feedback @Louis!

I agree, there is no story behind it yet. The concept for my new online identity i'm building is surrounding the fact that my whole life friends have called me Simpson. For my actual name I don't know that I'll do any design, it will be just plain text i'm thinking. The mark will be the only unique piece of my identity.

Back to the drawing board, I need to come up with more ideas :)

@David Simpson Yes, yes, that's exactly the right kind of track! Sounds much stronger.
