This is my first Dribbble shot, I hope you like it. :) I love Dribbble!
I have always wanted to design a weather app. Inspired by the many cool weather app designs out there I couldn't resist and finally designed my own weather app. I needed the practice too and it was fun working on it. This is the first final draft.
Initially I wanted to give menu options of today, hourly, week and rain. But I decided to keep it simple (for now) with just today's forecast and the next 6 days. I decided to give it a simple/clean look and feel with 2 bright colors, green and pink.
I think the temperature position needs to be re-looked at - it just seems to be floating. I don't know how many people share how I look at weather forecasts but the degree is the most important for me.
@Helen Tran I think the opposite to be honest haha. Most of the time I handle the 3, 30, 300 rule in my designs. In 3 seconds I can see it's rainy weather, within 30 seconds I see the temperature, and in 300 seconds I see the weather for the upcoming days. Don't know what the rest thinks of this idea?
First, welcome and kudos because it's a great debut shot!
Second @Obeydesign@Helen Tran I have to agree with Obey's rule, but the position of the temperature feels kinda odd to me too, maybe I'd try it next to the day title, as (Today [temperature]).
Thanks all so far! ^^ Appreciate the comments and kind words.
@Helen Tran I see. That is good feedback, because the most important thing about this app is that it is useful for the user. Will look into it.
@Obeydesign Ty! I agree with you on the order of importantance... Forecast (icon), temperature, week forecast. But I think the seconds are more like 1, 2, 3. :D Wonder what other users think.
You guys were right about the main temperature in the initial design was a bit weird, like it was floating in the air. *lol*
Putting it besides 'today' was not very nice imo (I just tried myself), layout wise is doesn't look interesting and there will be problems when you want a longer text for example 'heute abend' which is much longer. Temperature will be pushed too far to the right then. I prefer 'today' to be centered.
So this is my solution for now, full version in the attachment. What do you think? :)

Thanks @Ilie Ciorba Yes, you are right. Perhaps you haven't lived before you've designed a weather app or Twitter icon. :P
