@Marcus Lindgren Thanks - thats what I though, the user wouldn't fold the content but would have the content fold out to them as they unlock - more visually pleasing I think
Only problem is the direction and the logic behind it.
If the Homescreen is unfolded right next to it on the right side would be the lock screen. So swiping to the left would have to "fold" the screen and show the homescreen instead of the second page of the homescreen.
You know what I mean?
Maybe having the lockscreen fold, and the homescreen unfold? :P And then having a folding animation when one swipes between pages? And when typing, and watching porn, and playing angry birds.... FOLDS EVERYWHERE!
@Gonçalo Morais Thanks, I agree - thats what I was thinking. Its nice to have your content presented to you magically in an open fold as apposed to wiping the content away nicely. Thats how I'd prefer it, anyway.
I'm sorry, but as with all of these, there are so many issues with this. The slide track and button, why are they there? They aren't used any more, so they are basically useless bits of UI. That whole area would need re-thinking. Secondly, the black status bar with the battery, signal and other bits is getting in on the "folding" action for no reason at all. It's not showing different information, it's just getting needlessly moved around.
@Craig 'iPhaze' Philips Well, a few things have to be taken into account. The keypad lock screen for one. Another is the notifications which now have their own slide to unlock functionality.
The folding only works if your finger directly performs the fold/unfold from one screen to the next. But the lock keypad has to have a place somewhere in-between, so it just couldn't work like that. With the notifications, you wouldn't know which one you had selected as the individual icon wouldn't be the only one starting to slide as you'd expect, like it's currently done.
Simply put, I don't think the unlock process will ever be able to affect the entire the entire screen, the whole process will be too disjointed.
@Will B Well regarding the notifications, how does Apple do it at the moment - there is no animations, it just opens. Why would that change?
Keypad lock: As the user folds the screen it folds onto a dimmed screen with a linen background and a numerical / key phrase password enter screen, then acts the same way it does now.
Again though, if you have any other ideas, please contribute - thats what I did :)
Also: Yes, I do think Apple nailed it - but this is a bit of fun. Chilax! LOL

My own version of fold to unlock - the lock screen stays in tact and the springboard folds out from the left as you slide

Much better than the original fold to unlock IMO
Would love to see this added to the tweak.

Might just be that apple nailed it already ;)
But I'll do some thinking anyway!
