@Brian Lovin Yes, it is intentional. Personally I like the broader sense of 'destination' as a concept, rather than "the destination". There's a few variations on the saying.
More importantly though, I did it for balance. The four lines are now comprised of 3 words / 1 word / 3 words / 1 word respectively. Were the first line to have four words, it would be much more cramped/condensed at the current line height (which is set to match the line height of the second line, 'destination'), unless I were make the text of the four words in that line proportionally smaller, in which case it would be relatively too tiny for my comfort and would decrease overall legibility.
I agree with @Brian Lovin about the "the" but also understand why you left it out... I think it could have worked writing it vertically up the side of the "D" and still have the same visual balance
