But wait a sec, see that red part i think some layers got mixed up, if there is gloss that part should be a bit lighter?

Lovely icon, the 'gold' look makes it seem like a 'classic'.

Also, I think Pedja's right about your layer hierarchy?

@Pedja & Russel Yeah i just looked into that - the layers aren't mixed up but the multiply is just burning through a bit harsh - i'm going to tone it down a bit. Thanks!

@Aidan Lol yeah someone mentioned Steampunk on twitter as well. We should have more steampunk icons.

@Kevin lol just did a google search for old world map, which launched me into an hour long wikipedia trip learning all sorts of stuff about map charting in ancient times.

@Everyone else Thanks a lot! I'm seeing a theme here, i'll work on a Safari set. I've got a few other ideas - can't wait to show them to you.

You've convinced me. I don't care what my next client wants, they're getting a steampunk website!

I really like this one. Great colors and the gold looks really good on the compass.

This is gorgeous. I don't think I've ever seen a nicer gold colour executed... the whole thing feels like it belongs in an epic story.

Another compass design for my safari set. This time i was going for a pro/army/rubber kinda look.
