Last night I started thinking a lot about making my own Monopoly set. I'm having the houses, hotels, and dice made now. Today I spend a good chunk of time making the board (which is not ready to show) and the top of the box (shown here).
It's not so much that I want a "fancy" version of the game, it's that I want one that's my own and well-made. I've been trying to figure out what Monopoly is, and apart from the goofy colors they have, there's some really beautiful symbols (like the railroad icons).

Genius idea. How are you getting it made? Did you design the pieces as well? Will they start selling Mantia Monopoly alongside Simpson's Monopoly and Star Wars Monopoly?
(The box art looks sharp, too, by the way.)
@Zach Forrester Having various people help me with printing things, manufacturing things, and stuff. Not at all going to be sold. Only one copy, mine. Just a really fun personal project I can immerse myself in.
Very cool. Love to see how it all turns out. (And, if you feel like sharing, what it cost to do, 'cause now I'm getting ideas.)
We should play sometime. I love Monopoly.
I love Monopoly too. What a fantastic idea!
