It is an ice hockey illustration, another one from sports related set. Now it is a puck.
The client asked us for a realism (again :) )
These days the ice hockey world championship is taking place so this one is just in time.
Does Dribbble have any hockey fans or it is only basketball here? :)
this is amazing! (coming from a big hockey fan). my only question is if this is supposed to be a huge puck? Relative to the scale of the rink and marks on the ice, I'd put the size of this puck somewhere over at least a foot..? Either way, the execution is seriously jaw dropping!
Looks a little bit thick, but textures is very realistic. Very good.
What about ice background? It's photo? Cause not everybody can draw good ice texture.

Beautiful work. What technique did you use to create the side of the puck? My coworker @Alan Dennis and I are stumped.

I'd love to know the answer to Joe Dearman's question too. my guess is they are using the 3D in PS

@Joe Dearman: well, here we used a vector pattern with small diamond shapes, which we bent along the surface. Saying it shortly :)

Would be too much to know how you did this part? http://cl.ly/GfYx
If it's 3D in PS, then :P

@ Pedja Rusic: it is difficult to describe it in short, I tried to explain it in my comment to Joe Dearman.
And it was not 3D just PS.

@Artua Ah figures, gotta love them vector shapes, is it just transform warp or something more?
