What's it for? Does it record audio? I like the asymmetry of the right one. But I like the simplicity of the left one.

Left one. KIDDING. Yes I love the wood texture when it fills up more space than just a border. And the speaker has a nice depht feeling to it, and it generally looks slick and fit for the iPhone!
