the idea of pair is pretty neat, an app for just two people. it's really no different than anything else out there other than the fact that it's a more intimate experience between you and another person. which is a solid idea.
pair reached out to me in need of a really good homepage. they didn't want something like every other boring homepage that just shows the product on white or something. so, i put my creative thinking cap on, grabbed my mark ii, a tripod, and my wife and we went to a cafe and shot some pics of us holding the phone together. came out rather nice.
the idea here is that we are both in the same app, on the same page, but in different locations - hints the 2 different bg images. one is me in the office and the other is her at a cafe. "be together, even when you're apart."
check out the slightly larger size attached for slightly more detail.
pair did a rush implementation of it here http://trypair.com (and moved things around, changed font sizes).

Wow dud this is great and I love how you did it, simple and clever.
I really, REALLY like this. I think I like the one in your shot with the obvious "Be together when you're apart" bit is much better, but brilliant concept overall :)
Guess they trashed mine ...LOL!
Dude, dude, DUDE! You nailed this! Fantastic work!
Wow,, Stunning Design..!
Very cool. One thing I would look at is the mask on the hands. It's a little harsh. Very well done, but it needs some feathering or a slight inner shadow to mimic the effect.
LOL, I was just gonna say, didn't @Eric Hoffman do a site design for Pair as well? Anyway, this looks lovely, although I must admit I'm really getting sick of the photos of screens (not just from you of course).
Love it !
They must bring back "Be together even when you're apart"..
Great idea for an app and a super nice page, perfect. Great work!
Thats great. I didn't know you were a hand model too.
beautiful work... love it!
Great app and I think you got across the message of Pair perfectly. I started using it a month or so ago with the missus and it works like a charm. Simple but brilliant.
just... great. can't describe how!
Time to date ALL the single ladys!
reaaaaally cool dude..
looks really great!, I love it :)
where did you take this photo, north carolina? man & woman, how ORDINARY...
i'm just kidding, nice work, definitely nailed it.
This is great......finally looked at the hands :)
Guy, this is awesome. Was that shot of the two hands holding the phone your idea? Brilliant.
very good concept and well executed! Talented work
Awesome stuff Dann!
Looks really great, congrats!
One small thing though - because the image on the website stretches (or becomes smaller) to fit the width of your screen, when it's a bit small everything is a bit blurred and the text is harder to read.
