Unsolicited redesigns. Just for fun. Their logo looks like it's a tough one to scale down while retaining detail. Here's me trying to do just that.

Looks really great
I think their cloud as a whole needs to change. Has always looked stretched to me.
White is so soft! Love it Louie!
@Louie Mantia That shine makes the icon feel messy.
Looks sharp, but I'd get rid of the shine.
As simple as efficient. Nice work!
Relaxing colors huh ^^
Redesigning a bad idea doesn't improve the idea. :/
The cloud look's too squished. The grey at the top is too strong same for the gloss.
The scaling down worked. Kudos for keeping it simple and keeping the iPhone gradient/gloss; that's part of the game.
Love it! Nice colors!
The cloud looking stretched is relative. Have you seen a cloud? Pretty stretchy.
I think the cut out lines should be thicker. And each line should vary more on the Y axis to look more like a waveform. Unless I get super close, it just looks like a gradient.
This might be another place to apply a gradient with a curve, followed by a posterize just to get the gradation values correcter. I think it should ease in a little more from solid.
Also, check out what this homie did with the logo: http://vimeo.com/3378017
Super sharp, love what you've done with this. Theirs is really crisp, but they seem to just be using 1px stripes all the way along, I love how yours stays more to the original logo and has thicker stripes going to thinner stripes, while still being crisp. Great job.
Also why don't people like the soundcloud logo? I think it's great.

After seeing the work of Louie Mantia for the SoundCloud Icon, I had the idea to make a personal version of the Beatport app Icon. Enjoy ;)
