Kanyegg Egg Type (aka Bound 1)

Kanyegg was hatched after noticing the correlation between the rap mogul and the modest egg. I procured an emu egg, known for its size and color. After numerous attempts to transfer the sketch, I had to apply (and reapply) one by hand with chalk. I researched egg carving, which is itself an entire art form, and began cutting into this massive shell with a handheld dremel.

The process took three weeks, a couple face masks, and two different drill bits. While very proud of my handiwork, especially with my first attempt at carving, some of the shell began to deteriorate, at which point I was bound to revisit my project: carve out all white shell? If so, what the shell was I to do next?

Observe the rest of the process on Kanyegg. Stay tuned for Bound 2.
