Second, huge thanks to @Daryl Ginn for providing tons of useful suggestions. Guy's a rockstar.
Anyway, I always thought the Spotify Mac app was pretty weak compared to their new fancy Android and iPad apps, so I took cues from both of those and came up with this concept. I tried to stay as close to their UI Guidelines as possible.
As always, feedback and suggestions are incredibly welcome. Hope you enjoy it!
@Jack Bingham thanks! and yeah, that's a fair concern. I think I initially planned to do a dark app, but I really don't like looking at them for long periods of time (which is why this one is light) :S
Also, Spotify's new iPad app is pretty light as well
The top toolbar rocks, but I dunno if I'm getting that same feeling from the bottom toolbar. The icons/widgets seem a little weak there.
I'm also not sure about putting the "+" icon next to the PLAYLISTS header. That's usually where show/hide are found so that might conflict with some expected functionality.
I really like this, but I have to say, it looks almost identical to rdio's new interface http://www.rdio.com/new/. Was that intentional or just a happy coincidence?

Awesome ! But you should rework the bottom, that could be better :)

This so good. Spotify needs to hire you!

This is great work, but it reminds me of Rdio instantly because it's light. Spotify is dark; maybe do a darker version to go alongside this?

I love this look, the only thing I'd add is that it kinda looks like iTunes and I think they might want to distinguish from Apple's musical app.

I've been working on for a couple of days! I suppose I'll rebound you once I'm done :)
Great job!

Can Spotify hire you already for their redesign?

@Russ Ha, I don't even think they're planning a redesign :P

@Maxwell Barvian - if they're not considering one, they should.

I'm really not a fan of the current Spotify design even though I use it almost every day.
This, however, would be ace! WANT!
