Nothing too fancy, but I kind of like the simplicity.
http://QUOTE.fm is about sharing stories worth to read. Select a passage you like and share it with or without a comment to QUOTE.fm, so everyone get's a small preview of what the text is about.
Have you tried to depress the lines instead - with an upper inner shadow and a white crisp drop shadow at the bottom? At least then the text wouldn't float.
@Johan Then the lines have to be in a darker blue than the background and everything looks so dark and blurry. No to mention that nothing else in the app uses the pressed-in-effect you're talking about.

Your icon is your identity. I think this looks way to generic.

One of the best app icons I've seen recently!

Have you tried without the drop shadow from the "text" lines? To me it just doesn't look right.
The icon is plain which for all I know could resonate well with the app, but all I learn from it is that "the app presents text".

@Johan The drop shadow does seem a bit strange here, but it looks nice on the screen of the iPad. It develops some kind of "depth".

Sure.. Yet, it looks wrong to me.

Nice! Missing the branding/logo for recognition, though.
