Love it, Mike. Great style. Children book is a great idea.
Just a little nit pick, something about that one last tree line on the right behind one of the antlers branch bugs me. It's a little miss alignment kind a thing. Maybe delete that one tree?

As for that tree, I'll design beaver and have him cut it down. :D joking of course. Yeah I agree, I think I could clean up a couple in there to simplify it over all. Still working away on this style, but it has been fun so far. I hope I can carry it to the next level one of these days and turn out print, book or something with it.
