@Joshua Krohn , @Zinegraph and @Ryan Ford thanks for the feed back. Yeah the halftone may be an over kill, just wanting to stay in the printing fell while maintaining the robin's coloring.
interesting. good things to think about, thank you for taking the time to comment, helps.
Looks like I'm in the minority, but I like the halftone version. I agree about the type. I think it's the lowercase r that ruins it for me. Would be interesting to see the font customized with fully rounded r, b, and n.
Really nice, the robin has such a great shape! Can't pick between both versions for the halftone vs solid red though.. I like your type choice as well, I'd just suggest tightening up the spacing, especially as it's lower case. I think having it more compact would work well considering the horizontal composition.
Mark looks solid, Mike.
Although I'm allergic to gradients. But w/o that it looks great.
I think Maven Pro actually works well here.
Not sure about Wisdom Script tho. I know it's design-snobbery, but it's such a overused font (even tho it's a fantastic one!) that it's seriously becoming the Comic Sans of Script type fonts.
Thanks for the great feedback on this concept direction, really appreciate it, big time.
I've attached another version making some of the suggested changes. tighter kerning and a slight change to the Wisdom font.
check it out. http://dribbble.com/shots/549100-The-Print-Robin/attachments/40773 Then its on to another concept direction. Thanks again for the critique!

Not fond of Maven Pro. But that's a clever-as-heck mark. Don't know if it needs the halftone underbelly.

I enjoy a lot the type combination and the mark looks great but I agree with Joshua, for me the halftone underbelly is too much. Nice job!

Agreed with everyone. Underbelly detail is superfluous. DELETE.

Like the attached version! Great concept!

awesome. I think you could even tilt the page/wing and it would still read well... or on the underside with it flipped.
