I definitely like the inline treatment. I would probably give all the inline strokes a needle point though. Also, the connection of the 'B' and 'G' seems a bit unnatural. Oh and thanks for attaching all those images! I love looking at how people go about their process of lettering from sketch to digital.
Love the direction that you are going with this. I agree with @Christopher about the B and G connection, the connecting line is a little thin and looks a bit rigid. The swirls next to the ampersand I think I would thin out a bit, they seem a little too thick in weight. Also the space between the O and D could be widened a bit.
I really like the drop shadow lines, looking forward to seeing this finished :)
I hope my comment sent ok on Facebook, it doesn't seem to be loading now so I can't check, but this has progressed beautifully. I forgot to mention earlier, but I love how the 'L-O' mirrors the 'U-T'. It's excellent how well integrated those parts are considering they are quite different from the junctions and connections everywhere else.
Claire, thank you again. I still have a few tweaks to make (incorporating everyone's feedback) and working on that right now. Will be rebounding soon!
Kirk, at the beginning, I did a few very quick rough (and I mean ROUGH) lockup explorations, and showed them to the client. We both quickly agreed that a stacked version with the ampersand in the middle was the best option, even based on the loose roughs. But, here are those original roughs!

This is for a logo commission. A few in-progress sketches and digital are attached. The shot crop is from the latest version, 'digital_v2'.

It's very nice. did you do any exploration of different lockups? Or was this the only one. It's stellar.
