I love to work on words. Just one word. And these days I kind of fell in love with "Cupcakes". And I was thinking of a good way to display it. And I quickly thought of the italian typography from the beginning of the 20th century.
This sketch is the first part of the process. Next is going to be vectorization.

@Nacho I do agree. That is one of the parts I want to work on with Illustrator. There could be a curve between these two letters but the style on the first letters show a kind of 60° angle so I thought it would be better to continue that way. But still no sure about it. Second point is kerning. Maybe I should try to make it a little bit more tight.

Really nice (and great word choice!), the style works beautifully. I love the loop inside your 'C', it really leads your eye into it. I also love the little flick at the top of the 'k', it's a great touch.
I too agree with @Nacho about the 'k-e' area. I do really like the angled stroke, like you said it fits well with everything else – once you tighten the spacing there, it should really help. I think the 's' might be contributing to it looking a little strange too, it seems quite wide/thick compared to the 'C' for example. All the best with it and looking forward to the next step!

Lovely! I agree with you, I'd tighten up the "kes" a bit. The curl of the "C" seems a bit long, also. Just first impressions, this is looking really nice! I'm envious of your clean pencil skills :D

That looks great @Francis Chouquet! So clean and good looking.
I would say the 'akes' are too wide compare to the other characters, so I would make the actual letterforms narrower, not just the kerning between them. That would help with the balance of the word a great deal. I think everything else was already covered by @Joseph Alessio, @Claire Coullon, @Nacho, and @Luke Ritchie.
