When I designed the original Pacific Helm logotype, I redrew Futura Display to fit our needs. I began playing last night with the idea of making Japanese characters in the same style, to fit alongside.
I would appreciate any Japanese speakers who can provide some feedback.
It's also quite common in japanese type to inset the ° of the パ into the right most stroke, just leaving a thin stroke of red around the circle so it stays present. This allows you to approach the パ to the シ.
See http://cloud.mochidev.com/GP4A for an example.

Good! I like it.
I only see 「ク」 a little difficult to read.

Really good, but 「ク」 doesn't look as good as the others.
「ッ」 and 「ル」 are way too wide. Japanese characters should be all the same width.
