so I increased the space between the thumbnails. it's a completely new concept. the thumbs suppose to go full-color by hovering, the Filter could be putted off and pull down when you push it.
maybe I also make it responsive! if so, this simple layout would be perfect for that.

let me know what you think!

it supposed to be very wide, 1140px to be precise, so don't be surprised.
    feedback apreciated!

not so sure about the text and dribbble section below!

I don't think you overdid the white space at all, I like this layout a lot. I think the space between the thumbnails is perfect, it gives each piece enough room to breath and nothing looks like it's floating too much.

I really like the little arrow pointing down to the categories, it's just the right size that it's noticeable without being too prominent. I wonder if there's a better solution for the position of the 'filter' button as my eye is kind of reading it as connected to the 'DK', rather than related to the categories below. I'm not sure what to suggest, maybe it could just be smaller?

I very much like the gold/yellow colour in your avatar and links a lot, but to me it feels a tad overbearing covering a larger area like the thumbnails. Maybe that's just the impression I get without being able to see the full-colour hover state though. Of course, it could just be personal preference too as I'm usually not a big fan of brighter colours.

I like what you've done with the text and dribbble section, it's simple and clear. The only thing I would suggest is proper capitalization on the text ('My name', 'Switzerland', etc.) By the way, your DK looks amazing on that dark background colour!

Clean and simple :). I'm not sure what the "filter" is doing there. It looks like a button but is supposed to be more like an indication / tip? If it was me, I would remove it, because it's still clear how to navigate without the "filter" there.

    Keep it up!

Good point by @Jarne, I was trying to think of alternative positioning, etc. but removing it would work absolutely fine too (although I do love its background colour, but I'm sure you could always find another use for it!)

@Claire thank you again, glad you like it and it's ok, always very useful feedback! I know the gold color is a bit overwhelming at first sight, but I wanted to bring in some color in some way, and not keep it all black, grey and white, which would be very monochrome and kinda lifeless. also I'm already known to have that golden color, like some people said when they see my avatar!

maybe going to push the dribbble section to the left.
I agree, I could align it to the left of the thumbnails width and call it Categories, but I guess it wouldn't help much OR I just remove it and keep the arrow, like @Jarne suggested. a good idea!

@Jarne thanks for the tip! good suggestion.

@Claire I could use that color as hover state for the menu and other elements in the website.

@Daniel Keller sure you could, but I don't know how would that look. I'd love a version in which the logo would be your colour, and thumbnails be b&w and at hover coming slowly to colour - that's what floats my boat in folios. Just a personal digression, sorry for the inconveniences with my comment, but you know - Saturday evening, just came back from grill with family...

thanks @Melissa, I think I can top this one.. thinking about bringing in more custom typography with the next update, to make it look more special and unique!

also I thank you very much for the endorsement, it made my evening! :) also wrote you an endorsement, kinda like the concept of zerply, it's a perfectionized linkedin without all the useless clutter!

and I love your new website, now only the logo is left I guess.

  14. I finally came to a result that I'm satisfied with, and that's not easy at all .. cause I'm a really annoying client myself. Almost screaming at myself in CAPS: "GET IT DONE ALREADY!"

I like to tease you balla's, hope you don't mind hehe!
