I've been working on a handwritten logo for a client but just can't seem to find the balance between the sketch and the vector. What was your process with this beaut?
Kyle: I spent some time writing out several versions with my trusty Pigma Micron #2 until I got one I liked. Then, I added the flourishes. I scanned it at high resolution, knocked the white out of the image, and made the result a solid black. After that, I loaded the selection and refined the edge to make the strokes thicker and smoother. Here are roughly the settings I used:

Then, I just colored in the resulting selection. Easy peasy!

I like the bled edges, it really gives it a "classic", hand-etched feel. Would love to see the final version!
