I think the head tilting back a bit is kinda odd. Also, (don't be offended by this) the hair looks like a mixture between a turd and an Elf shoe :P. I don't get the curly tip of the tip I guess.
I thought "ice cream cone" but I can see everyone's references to an elephant. The spiral at the tip of the hair is really distracting (unless that's the goal). Maybe have the spiral defined the same way as the chin, forehead and twists in the hair, with the subtle negative space.
I also had the initial thoughts of "poo" and "ice cream cone". This was quickly followed by "Is that one of those As Seen On TV hair towel wrap … things?" (probably due to the backward tilt of the head).
(And then in passing, "It could be a Marge Simpson reboot, too.") ;)
Seriously, though, I really like the profile—feels like a classy, stylized cameo broach. My one suggestion is to lessen the taper in the final curl so it's not so sharp.
Can you link to a photo of one of the statues you're basing the hairstyle on? It might help people (e.g., me) give you some more pertinent feedback if they could visualize what you're referencing.

I cannot say a lot about this project at the moment, apart from the fact that I had a ton of fun making this.
I'd love to hear some feedback about these curves. :)

@Floris Voorveld Not intentional, but interesting. The client may actually like that. :)

Are elephants involved? Cause if that's intentional, I love it :)

@Gilles Maes Haha, nope! :)
@Dennis Flinsenberg Haha, not offended at al. It represents an old fashioned way of putting their hair back, as can be seen on some old statues.

Love the shape, only concerned about the negative spaces when scaled down. Wouldn't it get too "priegelig"?

Like a baas.

I saw an elephant too. But that's just irrelephant, I guess.

To me it looks like the hair ends in a moustache! The right side of a very manly moustache with an impressive curl ;)

The ice cream lady :). This looks great.

I like the way you cut the edges: jaw/neck, forehead/hear and hair/curls

The subtle cuts in the figure are really nice, but I also think they're the flaw in this design, only because when scaled they basically disappear.
