I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and extend the stump and stone well up a tile so that Mimeo can stand in the center instead of on the background border.
Yup, that's what I'll have to do.

Any idea of when this is going to be released? Sorry if I overlooked it somewhere.

I'm anticipating it not being complete for months. 6 months is probably optimistic. I've never done something of this scale so it may be sooner or much, much later.

Points of greatness (for me), in order of magnitude of greatness: Leafy ledge, Tree trunk, Log, Stone Pipe.
Something about the stone pipe doesn't seem as detailed to me.

That would be the result of me turning on and off layers and then forgetting to finish it ;)

Is that a dashed border surrounding some invisible platform? Perhaps some hint as to how the bit depth will work? I notice it's not present in the 2-bit shot, but maybe that's just another artifact of turning on and off layers. It's starting to look a bit (pun intended!) like the colored exclamation blocks from SMW.

As for where Mimeo stands on the platforms, is it possible to use a collision box that's shorter than the tiles? I remember you said that the sprites have smaller collision boxes, but I don't know if that same system is at work with the landscape as well.
