Starting to flesh out some assets. We've got a stump, a stonewell, a stack of square logs, a leafy one-way platform, a brick, a chest, and the beginnings of a parallax background that is really busy at this resolution when not parallaxing.

All densely packed to fit into one shot.

Can you go like 30% opacity on that parallax bg? I thought that you had said earlier that it didn't have to be true to the bits?

Also, that leafy platform is going to be the bomb. I can see some commander keen-ish influences coming out here...

@Rogie When I said that I was referring to the 16-bit graphics where it wouldn't be noticeable to the majority of people. Dropping a gray into the 2-bit is out of the question. If it's a problem in motion I'll dither or simplify.

Will you have any springboards or warping portals?

I love the way this looks in 2-bit, actually. Superb stuff.

I think I'm going to have to bite the bullet and extend the stump and stone well up a tile so that Mimeo can stand in the center instead of on the background border.

Yup, that's what I'll have to do.

@Erik I'm thinking "yes" on springboards, conveyer tiles and warp wells. But it depends on how difficult they are to implement/use with touchscreen controls.

I'm not 100% on the color of the brick in this setting. Or the original ground tiles. They say "mesa plateau" more than "forest floor." Palette based on an expanded Mega Man 2 palette.
