Worked out another logo together with Simon Ålander , who did the Ampersand and worked out the type.
This time we teamed up to craft some branding for Mike & Mimi's; a new restaurant in Monmouth, Oregon (right outside of Portland), that will be opening up in June.
It's gonna be a classy Pasta Café.
Sadly, me and Simon can't be there for the opening night, but if you have a chance, go there to grab a bite, because I've heard that their chef cooks up magic stuff.
Regarding the scaling. Since this is a restaurant, this version will be used for a large backlit sign by the entrance. The rooster looks pretty good all the way down to a 1x1 inch test-print, but the banner holding the type will most likely be used as stand-alone, if needed.
@Luke - Cheers for the feedback, bud. Before the last revision, the crest and the beak was much more simplified and gave a different balance to the overall feel. However, I did ad some shading to the middle parts, but it never worked. Felt way too detailed. We felt this worked better.
I'm a bit late to this, but fantastic work! You and @Simon Ålander make an outstanding team. The separate elements all combine beautifully well, the colours are gorgeous and this is going to look amazing as a large backlit sign! Are you going to get photos? Really impressive work.
Great Job!
My only concern is the outline at the bottom for the tail and the chest. I would try more implied line and shape rather than just adding an outline.
