This mockup is coming along! Here's the 'about' page, which is a full-width one. There are also blog pages and others that have a sidebar, which you can see in this shot.
I don't generally post full size mockups (apart from all the times that I have done). But I'd love to get some feedback. So if you have any, I'd love to hear it! I know you've got it in you, Dribbble!
Man. This is incredible work. I enjoy the navigation, simple but beautiful. The overall layout is well composed. Love the color choice. Type choice is spot on. Everything about this is great. Keep it up.
Loving the colors and textures on this mockup. My only critique is possibly choosing a different color for the logo tag. That orangy-brown doesn't seem to fit with the color scheme you have other than the link color.
@Jared Hardwick - thanks for the feedback Jared! I'll play with some more colour ideas. This is the colour scheme I'm using: http://cl.ly/GGj1. The orange isn't really used much on this page, but it is on other pages so it might make more sense there. But yes, I'll have a play with some others and see what works. Always good to have another pair of eyes look at it. It's hard to spot things like that when you've been working on something for so long. Thanks!
Looks great Jonathan. I second Jared's feedback about the logo. It feels a bit disconnected at the moment, but I feel it's because of the clean edges and crisp sewn detail while the rest of the site has a slightly distressed look. Try marrying the two styles a bit more.
Love the overall style! The textures, colours, fonts goes great all together!
Is the brown behind logo text is brand colour? It needs some adjustment I think. it pops up too much, it could go more with rest of colors... and the very solid shape of the logo rect over kinda teared header bar doesn't match much. ps, don't you have footer?
Looks great! nice color and consistent style. Just my opinion, but i'd add just a tad more whitespace under the hero image to help separate them a little more. And the hero image is screaming for a little one line headline inside of it. But once again, great work dude. bring the storm!
My two largest concerns right now is that you have this strange, silhouette/watermark -type illustration behind the drop-quote. I have no idea what it is and if it is not readily identifiable to your reader, what is its function?
As to the bottom-most border on the #wrapper: is that a deckled edge? As in like deckled edge papers? It's cute but I think it'd be a more successful device to use on all borders of the wrapper; not just the bottom. I realize that is probably developmentally difficult to achieve, though.
@Oykun Yilmaz@Ben Wong - thanks guys. The orange isn't a brand colour, I'm going to work on that part and see what I come up with. I might scrap the label thing altogether and just put the logo in the header in some nice way. Thanks for the feedback!
@Wes O'Haire - Thanks Wes! I'll give that a go and see how it looks. It's currently 30px spacing on the sides and top, so that things like this image are equally spaced.
@Kyle Picone - Thanks Kyle! The watermark thing is just a little paint squiggle. It does look much better without it. The bottom border is meant to look like a little stack of paper. It's a similar effect to what I used on the Rivers & Robots site, here. But more distressed looking, I might try the sides with the same effect, although not sure how big images will look if that's the case. I think the effect will make more sense on other pages where the effect is used on other elements too. (There's also a slight torn edge on the nav)

Looks awesome - I really like that navigation bar. Is the site gonna have a footer? That's the only thing that really throws it off for me.

@Awaken Design Company good point. Yes there will be a footer, I've not designed it yet.

@Jonathan Ogden I do love that color scheme. I'm thinking if you can work that orange in better, it would look great!
