    I like Instagram a lot, and I've been using it more and more lately. One thing that's bothered me about the current app icon is that inner shadow that blurs into the iOS home screen's shadows on the springboard; it doesn't feel like it does the best job to fit as it could.

    So I've started to recreate the app icon and add a few of my own refinements along the way. This is still a work in progress, I want to re-work the leather texture and refine the lens and flash. Have a look at the full size version!

    @Frederik Samuel Yup!
    "This one is so much better" is in comparison to the other, original one. I have always been bothered by the inner shadow on Instagram's Icon, and you've made it much less harsh while keeping the same 3d shape. I also like the shiny, vector style much more for iOS icons more than the original's overdone style.

    Feedback: The texture isn't applied to the bevel around the viewfinder. The "Insta" part seems to be jutting outwards like the lens, but it casts no shadow. The 1px border around the inset area in the upper right looks odd and seems blurry at the smaller size. A couple other things–lens, colored stripes and "insta" text, are also very blurry at the smaller size, and should be redrawn/adjusted at that size to preserve their crispness.
