Here is a logo idea that I thought was neat, but ultimately didn't convey what I wanted from the site, so I rejected it. It was supposed to be for a silent sport/fitness website. The heart was supposed to stand in for any specific sport, and each side of the image formed the letters A and P.
The idea was ultimately too confusing. The heart looks a little like a menacing mask and could almost represent a dating site (with a similar name, no less). Still, I love how the A/P turned out.
