I've seen this shading style used a lot, but have never quite known how to recreate it. Can you point me to some tutorials that show how to do this? BTW, love the little monster.
@Kyle Davis@superdeluxesam hey fellas. Actually it was a brush that I created in photoshop several years ago then did a live trace in illustrator. Unfortunately im not sure if I could recreate it. Lately I have been just scanning in some brush textures.

@Kyle Davis - this -http://vector.tutsplus.com/tutorials/designing/create-a-vintage-art-deco-poster-with-illustrators-grain-effect/ is one way to achieve a similar effect... but I think you're probably looking at brush work in photoshop for the shading I would say; am I right @Luke Bott ?
