I don't usually work in this many gradients and shadows anymore, but I thought I'd try something different for this extreme closeup. The ice cream may look too buttery though. I'm hungry now...
I think the ice cream in real ice cream sandwiches sometimes looks buttery, but that just means it's not dressed up with artificial stuff to make it unnaturally white.
Thanks folks! It seems *real* vanilla ice cream tends to have a light buttery/creamy colour (plus teeny tiny vanilla seed bits). But a typical ice cream sandwich normally has the more artificial white "iced milk" (?) stuff, so I may change the tone to match that.
