Blog Design

When Zeldman redesigned his blog recently, it confirmed some things that I had already been putting down in my own designs of late.

The typical blog structures are old and tired. The reason great apps like Readability and Reeder exist is because of this. Less distraction, no noisy sidebar of in-your-face ads. A simple, clean reading experience. Content first.

I hesitated at first to design a company blog with this in mind. I second-guessed myself because the client might not understand. But it's absolutely the right thing to do: put the reader and their reading experience first.

Would love to hear everybody's thoughts on the idea!
