Part of a quick (4hr from start to finish inc. programming) redesign of my personal domain www.nikworld.co.uk will be using the domain as a personal blog in the future, so just a place holder really.
Really really like the design and layout. Great work. Only thing that bugs me is the line height on the main header. The comma is touching the text below. Maybe it's intentional?
yeah, its something that looked better on the PSD as I had more control over the type, its all @font-face you see, in real life, so I have abit less control. It was actually intentional to have them so close but on the PSD the comma didn't sit so close to the edge of the E
Hi Stu, yeah, I agree about the letterpress effect... However, I have been using that effect ALOT in the last year, so I thought I'd give it a rest for abit
yeah, i was tempted not to suggest it because it's fast become the next rounded corner. It would look cool though - perhaps have it link to top-level of your site and letterpress on hover - maybe use some css3 transitions for it also :)
Looking awesome Nik. Love the different shades of red.
The only thing I would say (on the actual page, not the snippet above) is it feels slightly too static. Maybe some nice rollovers on the links/buttons?
Thats on the way Gaz (along with a jquery slide down contact panel)... didn't have too long to mess about so I just stuck it up as it was. Definitely a work in progress. Have set it up so I can add more sections in as I'm ready to.

Thats a good suggestion Stu, I think I'll do that, sounds a nice compromise.

-webkit-transition: all 1s ease-in; /*safari and chrome */
-moz-transition: all 1s ease-in; /* firefox */
-o-transition: all 1s ease-in; /* opera */
would do it, as long as it's two images and not using css sprites

Thanks Stu, I'll have a play with that when I get some time. Will post a rebound when I'm done ;)

I really love the colours here, red without being too bright, strong without being in your face. Nice work.

Thanks Kristen, I was quite happy with how it turned out, been wanting to try out that red on a web page for a long time
